Ebike Setup Instructions for a Smooth Coogee Bikes Start

Please note that for all models equipped with an NFC key, the key must be tapped on the screen to start the bike.
Important Tip When Inflating the Tires
One of the most common causes of pinched inner tubes is inflating the tire while the bike is resting on the kickstand. When the bike is tilted, the wheel may not sit perfectly straight, which can prevent the tire and inner tube from aligning correctly on the rim.
Before inflating the tire, make sure the tire bead is evenly seated around the rim and the inner tube is properly aligned. If the tire or tube is misaligned during inflation, uneven pressure can cause the inner tube to become pinched against the rim and eventually burst.
For this reason, we recommend inflating the tires with the bike perfectly vertical. Alternatively, you can flip the bike upside down to remove pressure from the tires while inflating, which helps ensure the tire and tube seat correctly on the rim.
EXPLORER, DRIFTER, & NOva 2.0
Our e-bikes can be unlocked for off-road use only. Please note that by law, the maximum allowed speed on public roads is 25 km/h.
To unlock the speed:

Press the power button to turn the display on.

Hold plus (+) and minus (–) together.

Press the power button again until you see a large number 4 on the screen.

Press plus (+) and enter the code 1111.
-
Once the code is entered, hold the power button.

You can now adjust and set your desired speed.
To unlock the throttle:

Follow the exact same procedure as above.

When you reach the settings page, scroll until you see a large number 06.

Set the small number to 02.
-
Confirm and exit — your throttle is now unlocked.
CRUISER - DUAL BATTERY
To unlock the speed:

Press the power button to turn the display on.

Hold plus (+) and minus (–) together.

Press the power button again until you see a large number 4 on the screen.

Press plus (+) and enter the code 1111.

Once the code is entered press plus (+) and minus (–) to set the speed then hold the power button.

You can now adjust and set your desired speed.

Keep tapping the ON button until you access the settings.

Set the value to 2.

Unbox and Inspect Your Bike
Start with the basics by following the ebike setup instructions carefully as you unpack your Coogee Bike. Remove all packaging materials and check that every part is included, such as the frame, battery, charger, pedals, display, front wheel, and tools. Inspect the bike for any visible damage caused during shipping, and make sure the components are secure before moving forward. Keep the owner’s manual close, since it gives you model-specific guidance that supports a safe setup. A careful inspection at this stage helps prevent delays later and ensures your eBike is ready for proper assembly.
Assemble Key Components Correctly
Once everything is unpacked, begin assembling the main parts in the correct order. Attach the front wheel, handlebars, pedals, and other included accessories according to the ebike setup instructions for your Coogee model. Make sure bolts are tightened evenly, but do not over-tighten, since that can damage threads or parts. Align the handlebars straight and confirm the brakes work smoothly before riding. If your eBike includes a quick-release system or pre-installed wiring, check that all connections are firmly seated. Proper assembly improves safety, ride comfort, and overall performance, especially during the first few rides.
Charge the Battery and Power On
Before your first ride, fully charge the battery using the included charger and a standard indoor outlet. Follow the ebike setup instructions to confirm the battery is inserted correctly and locked into place. Charging the battery fully before use helps support long-term battery health and gives you the best initial range. While it charges, review the display functions, pedal assist modes, and power settings so you understand how the bike operates. After charging, power on the system and test the display to make sure it responds properly. This step prepares your Coogee Bike for safe and efficient use from day one.
Adjust Fit and Complete Safety Checks
The final step is to adjust the bike for your body and complete a full safety check. Set the seat height so your legs have a comfortable bend when pedaling, and position the handlebars for a natural riding posture. Check tire pressure, brake response, chain tension, and the security of all fasteners. Use the ebike setup instructions to confirm that lights, display controls, and assist modes function as expected. A short test ride in a safe area is a smart way to verify everything feels stable and smooth. With these checks complete, your Coogee Bike will be ready for confident everyday riding.
